ViewGene is a family tree viewer that lets you easily view and investigate your ancestry.
This application has a number of views: A pedigree chart that displays your ancestors in a convenient layout so that you can see how many descendants you have on each branch of your tree allowing you to see where to focus your investigations. A timeline fan chart that allows the lifetimes of your ancestors to be seen, and allows for dates to be more easily validated. Integration with Bing Maps, which allows you to trace out the migrations of your ancestors over their lifetime.
The application loads in your family tree information from a GEDCOM file, which is easily exported from most family tree websites and applications (such as Ancestry, GenesReunited, or Family Tree Maker).
The free trial allows you to investigate the application's features with the sample GEDCOM shipped with the app. Purchasing the application allows you to load in your own GEDCOM file, so that you can investigate your own family tree.
Bing Maps integration: Shows on a map the location of each ancestor, if the GEDCOM contains location data (in Birth, Marriage, Death, Residence or Census tags). Shows lines indicating the migrations of each ancestor over their lifetime.
