More than 37,000 cross-referenced word histories describe the wheel ruts of the English language, letting you browse through a picture of how our words sounded and what they meant, hundreds - sometimes thousands - of years ago.

This version is fully offline, and needs no internet connection to run. We will keep the dictionary up to date, as the dictionary progresses nearly daily.
