This game is a combination of all four Zedlam games including the original Zedlam game plus Zedlam USA, Zedlam Europe, and Zedlam World. All games and all levels are playable in this version.
The original Zeldam game is a multi-player board game turned video game for 1 to 4 players. The game works similar to a cross between Pachisi (an ancient game from India with modern variations) type games and backgammon. It can be used with more than one player or the computer can take over for lack of human players, and can control up to 3 computer players for 1 player games. There are also several two player games as well which only uses 2 different colored pieces with more or less similar rules as with 4 colored pieces.
This package also includes 3 additional map based games based upon maps of North America, Europe, and a World map. These maps can be used for playing racing games as well as for learning with customizable quizzes and for exploring the regions by clicking on them.
The racing games are multi-stop road racing board games with a few easy to learn rules.
With Zedlam USA, in addition to a racing game, it also can be used to learn or teach the states and state capitals of the United States, and nearby bodies of water. It also has nearby provinces of Canada, and some Mexican border states, in addition to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. The optional tests can be for just U.S. states or capitals, or all land areas on the map, or for bodies of water. It can be programmed to allow second or third guesses before telling you the right answer.
The game was created back in the 1990's to teach the state capitals. The idea is to be able to name the states and/or capitals of the states you land on. If you don't know it, you have to look it up. It is a fun game to play and a creative way to learn or teach geography at the same time.
Zedlam Europe, in addition to being used as a racing game, it also can be used to learn or teach the names of countries and capitals of European states, and nearby bodies of water. It also has nearby Federal Districts of Russia, the Caucus region states of Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, and well as much of the Middle-East and some North African countries near Europe, and major Mediterranean islands. The tests can be for just European states or capitals, or all land areas on the map, or for bodies of water. It also can be programmed to allow second or third guesses before telling you the right answer.
Zedlam World can also can be used to learn or teach the names of countries and capitals of most countries of the World, and some large bodies of water. The tests can be for just Eurasian countries, African countries, North, South, and Central American countries, or for all land areas on the map, or for just seas and oceans.
