This means it is more important than ever for developers and users to be able to check GEDCOM files follow best practice. With GEDCOM Validator, you can check your files for problems and get in depth help on fixing any issues reported. Whether you are developing applications to read or write GEDCOM files or diagnosing a problem with a GEDCOM file, GEDCOM Validator can help.

Occasionally, users install GEDCOM Validator hoping to edit, display, or print the genealogical data contained within a GEDCOM file. You will need to use a genealogy application for that.
