Even though computer simulations don’t fill the place of actual experiments, they provide an accessible tool to visualize what would happen in an actual laboratory. Simulations are not limited by time and space. Everyone, all around the world, can access them and move beyond math equations to see how the nature works.
The aim of this application is to provide everyone who deals with collisions, specifically physicists and video game developers, a visually appealing medium to test their knowledge. The application makes it possible to observe elastic and inelastic collisions and study their relation with conservation laws not only in the lab frame but also in the center of mass frame.
In the current version of the application, the motion of a couple of pucks on a friction-less square floor that is enclosed by fixed walls is simulated. This simple setup is sufficient to perform numerous informative computer experiments.
