The micro:bit is a fun way for anyone to get creative with physical computing. This app will let you directly program your micro:bit using the easy-to-learn, block-based Microsoft MakeCode language and JavaScript. Even without a micro:bit device you can try out a virtual micro:bit with the built-in simulator.
As well as coding your micro:bit, this app has a few extra features over the editor at makecode.microbit.org that will work on micro:bits with up-to-date interface firmware:
- Automatically program your micro:bit over USB, without needing to drag-and-drop the file onto the micro:bit drive.
- Directly read serial data from your micro:bit for data logging and other fun experiments
All micro:bits sold since December 2016 will automatically work with the features above. For older micro:bits (for example those that were part of the UK free school drop) please see https://makecode.microbit.org/device/windows-app/troubleshoot
See http://microbit.org for more details about the device.
