ImageCut is a photo application that helps you do cool and fun things with your images and photos. You can cut some parts of an image and place them transparent over another one. At the end you can save extracted image cuts or the new merged image, use it or share it with others.
Application algorithms provide user various tools for extracting image object from its background and merges it with others. It is up to your imagination to do very interesting effects and/or image montage.
Application workflow consists from two main steps.
“Cut” step is first step where object is separated and extracted out of image. This step runs through two actions. First action creates a segmentation mask that segment the image into three regions: foreground (object to extract), background (all other objects) and edge area. At this moment application needs some help and user interaction. After user initial strokes and some additional user enhancement segmentation mask is precise and aligned with the image.
Image is ready for a cut. Now the transparency channel is automatically calculated for the object being extracted. As a result, user gets object(s) being extracted, to be used in Edit step.
Second “Edit” step is simple and allows user to open new background image and move, resize extracted image cuts around. User can also duplicate or delete extracted object. When satisfied, user can merge extracted object to newly selected background and save or share the result.
