Thoughtless Music (the independent music label) brings you "Kilowatts: Time Keeper" to the Windows Store. Originally released as an E.P. (Extended Play) it now comes to Windows 8 and Windows RT as a full featured app where you can listen to the music anywhere you are (no network connection required to play the music), read Kilowatts' bio or check his links if you're online. But if you are online and have a Play To device on the same network, stream the music. If you have, say an XBox 360, or other Play To device, you'll be able to play the music through that device.
In his hiatus since releasing ‘Love on Saturn’ for TLM018, James has been busy indeed – releasing his deep ambient work on Somnia, a sci-fi hip-hop full-length along with MC Amagine as Super Galactic Expansive, and producing ‘The Paranormal’ for Claude VonStroke’s Mothership label as one half of Voodeux. His forward-thinking production style stands out in a world of mass-duplicated dance music, and this EP is no exception. We begin with ‘The Ringing Spheres’, which brings smooth hypnosis to a slow boil, resulting in a subtle yet majestic crescendo anchored by iconic keys. Deftly merging IDM roots with modern tech-house aesthetics, ‘Speed of Time’ displays KiloWatts’ fluency in the studio with a stunning meld of broken beats, driving rhythms and a futuristic funk we can only hope the world is ready for. After having his hit ‘The Ride’ remixed by KiloWatts for TLM014, label favorite Limaçon returns the favor, reworking ‘Speed of Time’ as an infectious deep house groove that’s sure to keep the floor moving effortlessly into the wee hours. Finally, ‘Solar Clock’ closes the EP with an attitude brighter than the sun, pulsing rhythms paired with melodic flares and magnetic sparks designed to light up any sound system. ‘Time Keeper’ is as clear a statement as any that KiloWatts is a singular talent, and we’re delighted to count him among the Thoughtless…
