Psychological crime drama starring Emily Watson as Dr Emma Robinson, a forensic psychiatrist assigned to assess Connie, a woman accused of a heinous crime, but who claims she can't remember a thing. Emma attempts to understand Connie and her complicated relationship with her best friend Ness, which appears to have made her snap. But as Emma tries to uncover the truth, Connie plays a complex psychological game with her which brutally exploits Emma's own deepest insecurities.
