The Why Israel? Series examines Old Testament prophecies in light of New Testament teaching, particularly Jesus' words about the end of the age and the signs in the world which would signal His return. One of the clearest signs is the re-establishment of Israel as a fulfillment of biblical prophecy. That Jews are back in the Promised Land, following nearly 2000 years in exile among the Gentile nations, declares that God has not finished with Israel, that He has promises to keep where the Jewish people today are concerned. If the Church is to embrace the 'whole counsel of God' then surely the Church must also recognize God's love for, and faithfulness to, the Jewish people. The message of Christians for Israel to the Church is to prepare for the coming of the Lord by standing in solidarity with Israel and the Jewish people.
