The most awaited comeback of the actor Vadivelu (Imsai Arasan 23m Pulikesi, Chandramukhi), have won a many accolades and awards for his roles portraying slapstick comedy in Tamil Cinema. Vadivelu returns as "Jagajala Pujabala Tenaliraman" playing a dual role of King Maamannar and his minister. A fictionalized satirical story of a kingdom in 15th century AD, where King wishes the welfare of his people but is being advised wrongly and is under the impression that his people are happy. His nine ministers are the Navarathnams (nine jewels) of the court. The king has 36 wives and 52 children. The council of ministers make a trade pact with the Chinese which is an indirect conspiracy against the kingdom. To the rescue is Tenaliraman, a revolutionist, who learns about the true nature of the ministers and he set to thwart the plot. In the meantime, love blossoms between Tenaliraman and Princess Madhulai which spins the story into more twists. Will Tenali be able to convince the king that things are not as it looks?
