Silent film legend Coleen Moore (The Scarlet Letter) plays the eponymous Ella Cinders in this contemporary reimagining of the classic Cinderella fairy tale directed by the inimitable Alfred E. Green (Baby Face). Moore is delightful as the lowly Ella, a household drudge who sees an opportunity to escape her miserable life when she wins a beauty contest and is promised an acting job in Hollywood.
