Comprised of Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness, and Paavo Siljamaki, Above & Beyond have been described as “the biggest DJ/production collective the UK has ever produced” by DJ Magazine. A band first and foremost, their story has been one of constant evolution and countless accolades. The only dance act in history to win the Essential Mix Of The Year twice, the London based trio have remixed greats like Radiohead and Madonna, played to 1 million people on the Barra Beach in Rio de Janeiro New Year’s Eve in 2007, and had their track “Buzz” chosen to soundtrack the launch of Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic SpaceShipTwo in the Mojave desert. Each week brings another crowd, another country, and often another continent, with thousands singing their lyrics, while their weekly radio show reaches over 30 million people worldwide. In the summer of 2013 Jono, Tony, and Paavo launched another bold musical project, Above & Beyond Acoustic. Rewriting a selection of their back catalogue for a 15 piece ensemble, complete with a full string section, a harp, and even a broom, they sold out three intimate shows. Acoustic breathes fresh life into some of the most loved dance music songs of our time, with elegant, downtempo arrangements that join the dots between Portishead, John Barry, and Angelo Badalamenti. Featuring the 12 acoustic reinterpretations that formed the bedrock of the band’s recent sold out live shows at London’s historic Porchester Hall and the legendary Greek Theatre in LA. One of the most popular electronic acts the UK has ever produced, Jono, Tony, and Paavo have been celebrated for placing real musicianship and songwriting at their core. Whilst their famed club mixes have resonated with the dance generation, the songs behind them have touched fans of all ages across the globe.
