This journey begins with the upbringing of Dainhen Butler who is raised in Atlanta, GA in a two parent household. Butler describes things he enjoys engaging in as a child: basketball, the debate team, and aiding self-employed family members to earn money. His desire to drape himself in name brand clothing sparks the engagement of petty thievery such as popping lockers to steal valuables of fellow classmates, which gradually evolves to robberies. As leader of a criminal enterprise, Butler commands his companions to rob stores. Initially, ventures are lucrative; however, things heat up when he orders his affiliates to intrude a store for the second time that's under police surveillance. Moments after barging into the facility with weapons drawn, police swarm in and arrest Butler leading to a ten year prison sentence. The first year of his term is served in solitary confinement for striking two inmates in the head with a lock concealed inside of a sock. Butler recollects on the incident that causes the State of Georgia to transition the all-male facility to an all female institution. Butler graphically depicts the rape and strangulation that causes the State of Georgia to transition the all-male facility to an all-female institution. The common occurrence of violence at this prison brings about his desensitization to certain attacks. At the midpoint of his bid, an instructor introduces him to books and the debate team leading to a stimulation of life hope. The remainder of his term is dedicated to education and devising programs that benefit's others in society. After his release, he mentors youth, feeds the hungry, creates multiple businesses, and lives a crime free lifestyle advocating for others to do the same.
