Paul is being asked by an interviewer to tell a story he's never been able to tell before -- how, when he was ten years old, he and his brother began having sex. And how it continued for two years until his brother went away to college. Brotherly is based on the true story of two brothers in the 1970's who grew up in an incestuous relationship. The youngest Paul is a bed-wetter but is never able to get care of comfort from his parents, who spend most of their nights passed out drunk. Instead, it is his older brother Michael who comes to the rescue time and time again. One night, their relationship turns sexual. And in a house devoid of any real emotion, the child's hero worship for his brother leads him to seek out comfort any way he can. Paul, now a gay man in his 40's, is finally ready to talk about his brother and his experience.
