Gemini who is a widower lives with his brother Jaishankar,mother-in-law S.Varalakshmi and sister-in-law Nirmala in Trichy.Varalakshmi tries to control the family and wants to retain her power so she keeps having clashes with Jaishankar as to who has a better hold in the family. Varalakshmi also had a elder daughter(Sachu) who she claims was dead as she got married to an chariot driver against her wishes.
