During the Great Depression, Asa Bodine (Thomas Clark) returns to his native farmland to restore the abandoned fields of his youth. When Asa's wealthy and conceited neighbor, Harold Pruitt (Mike Seely), discovers that Asa has returned home, tensions clash between the two farmers as Pruitt pressures Asa to sell his property at a low price.
