In 1869 the thinly populated Wyoming Territory became the first democracy in the modern world to recognize a woman's unqualified right to vote. Much of the American West would soon follow suit. Frontier characters with a volatile mix of motives drive this story of women's suffrage that takes place a full 50 years before the U.S. Government passed the 19th Amendment.
