In 1945, the city of Berlin lay in ruins. Soviet troops had overrun the city after Germany surrendered, and the city was completely destroyed. Then, in the summer of 1948, a new hope began to grow in the city when the Americans supplied the city from the air after the Soviet blockade. This documentation shows the 70th anniversary of the Berlin airlift with Gail Halverson, the "candy bomber".
