Dicte Svedsen is a 40-year-old reporter who, following her divorce, has moved back to her native town of Aarhus in Denmark with her 16-year-old daughter Rose. This is a city that she would have preferred to forget, along with the memory of growing up as a Jehovah's Witness and the child she gave up as a young woman.
