Sons of the Soil is a gripping documentary - series that goes behind the scenes to follow one of India’s most celebrated Pro Kabaddi league team called the Jaipur Pink Panthers. The team owner Mr. Abhishek Bachchan along with his new, young and dynamic team is determined to bounce back from the last five seasons of less than satisfactory performances after having won the title in the first season. As the quest to win season seven of Kabbadi's biggest competition begins, a lot is at stake for the inaugural champions of PKL. The docu series strongly focusses on the 'human narrative' by establishing the characters of the players and an awe- inspiring journey of these 'sons of the soil' who come from humble backgrounds and go onto becoming household names with the advent of the Pro Kabaddi League. The series also explores how Kabaddi as a sport that was once confined largely to villages and children's playgrounds, now has come a long way, to become the second most watched sport in the country after cricket. As the seventh season of PKL progresses, we witness how this young team of players belonging to different parts of the country come together while team dynamics unfold between the owner Abhishek Bachchan, the team management, head coach Srinivas Reddy and the players as they experience moments of sheer joy through victory, moments of dejection and sorrow when encountered with failures, togetherness and falling apart too. Keeping the PKL tournament as the backdrop of the show, Sons of the Soil promises an exciting ride that not only showcases the inner workings of a sports team but also brings to view the emotional journey and high stakes for a sportsman and the people around him when put under a high pressure situation.
