Tottenham Hotspur has a long, rich history. In recent years, the club has transformed itself on and off the pitch with Tottenham Hotspur becoming serious contenders for major honours, culminating in a thrilling run to the Champions League Final in 2019. As the new season begins expectations are high. However, results on the pitch in the first few months are disappointing as the team slips down the league table, forcing Daniel Levy to make a difficult decision. He sacks manager, Mauricio Pochettino and brings in José Mourinho, one of the world’s most successful and high profile managers. A José ‘bounce' inspires some of the biggest names in football, including Dele Alli, Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane, to an impressive run of victories, but soon, problems José faces a crisis on several fronts. Son’s suspension and a string of injuries to some of his most important players make victories harder to come by. José turns to the academy for solutions and the club settles the futures of two of its most senior players whilst navigating the January transfer window. For the Head Coach, it’s his first chance to put his mark on the squad. New signing Steven Bergwijn arrives and faces a daunting task, a debut against reigning Premier League champions Manchester City. As the games continue, José begins to turn the tide and the team start to believe again. But with only two months to go, Tottenham Hotspur’s season hangs in the balance. They are still fighting on two fronts with a decisive match in the Champions League as well as chasing a top 4 finish in the Premier League. But as José’s focus turns towards the crucial final games, the global Coronavirus pandemic devastates the UK and threatens to end the football season.
