Piero Mansani is a young boy in the district of Livorno nicknamed Ovosodo, or “hardboiled eggs.” After the death of his mother, he and his brother are raised by his father, who is in and out of prison, and his father’s girlfriend. This coming-of-age comedy follows 15 years in Piero’s life – the friendships, loves, heartbreaks, and triumphs – as he comes to understand the ways of the world.
