Immersed in the macho culture of Istanbul, 16-year-old Kerem idolizes his shady uncle Bulent, and wants to be respected as a man. When Bulent is threatened by the mafia to pay off his debt, he feels helpless, and makes a plan to convince his mother to sell their house. Kerem gets involved and tries to help his uncle, but is soon disappointed by Bulent’s ways. Humiliated, a confrontation between nephew and uncle ensues, in which Kerem is forced to take sides, create his own set of values, and come to terms with being a grown-up.
