An invaluable introduction to a largely unknown creative talent (outside of Poland), KOMEDA: A SOUNDTRACK FOR LIFE introduces viewers to Krzysztof Komeda, a Polish jazz musician best-known for his score for Roman Polanski’s ROSEMARY'S BABY. Komeda, who died prematurely in 1969 just four days shy of his thirty-eighth birthday, already had a storied career in music when he moved to Hollywood in 1968 at Polanski's behest. Featuring vintage clips of Komeda in action as well as interviews with key collaborators including Polanski, jazz musician Tomasz Stanko and Komeda’s widow, Zofia, this brief fifty-two-minute documentary sheds light on a restless creative talent who shined bright under the shadows of communism and died far too young. - Kristian St. Clair
