Emma Watson and BAFTA Awardwinner Victoria Wood (Housewife 49) star in a spectacular event drama about family, fame and realising your dreams. Set in 1930s London, Ballet Shoes tells the exhilarating tale of three orphan girls Pauline (Watson), Petrova and Posy Fossil. Adopted by an eccentric explorer called Gum (Richard Griffiths - The History Boys, Harry Potter), they are raised as sisters by his selfless niece, Sylvia (Emilia Fox - The Virgin Queen; Silent Witness). Each of the girls has a dream to fulfil - Pauline longs to be an actress, Petrova wants to be an aviator, while Posy seems born to be a ballerina. But when Gum goes away on an extended journey and the money runs out, the girls struggle to balance personal ambition with the need to survive physically, emotionally and financially. It is only when an unexpected opportunity arises to join the Children's Academy of Dance and Stage Training, that the girls discover their special talents and start to realise their dreams.
