A small-town social worker, Paula Jackson, visits a commune headed by a charismatic leader called Moses. The setting seems idyllic and the leader's eight wives and numerous children seem happy and cheerful. Soon, Paula begins to sense that something is very wrong. As she investigates, she discovers a dead child, sadistic rituals, and ruthless mental and physical abuse. Determined to free the women and children from Moses' tyranny, she must go head to head with true evil.
