The film tells how 17 political prisoners led by Rafael, León and Germán, who are serving their sentences for being opponents of Pinochet, set in motion a complex plan to escape from the Public Prison of Santiago through a tunnel over 80 meters long they build for a year and a half, using a single screwdriver, and hiding 55 tons of dirt inside the penitentiary.
