The new night shift security guard Kenny gets shown the ropes by an older guard who then leaves. Kenny was looking for a job with isolation and quiet, but he struggles to stay awake, setting an alarm to make sure he walks the elevated parking lot at the designated times. At first the night is uneventful, until he spots a new car in the lot - inside a girl is overdosing on pills and vodka, but he can't get into the car. He calls 911 who can't come right away, so he smashes the window to try to revive her. A frantic rescue scene, the 911 operator comes on the line, but when he runs to the phone he catches a glimpse of the girl who seems to jump over the edge. He chases after her only to discover she's vanished, and when he turns back, her car is gone too. Did he imagine the whole thing? Finally the morning guard shows up and asks about Kenny's first night, and we learn the old guard showing him the ropes was a ghost, who died on his shift one night while trying to save a woman who was overdosing, in a car, right in the same spot. Apparently the ghosts like to have a little fun with the new guy on his first night.
