Trilok Gurtu is an Indian percussionist and composer, whose work has blended the music of his homeland with jazz fusion, world music and other genres. He is a visionary fusion composer of jazz and traditional European and Asian music. Gurtu’s musical journey is marked by a long list of unusual collaborations with the legendary jazz group Oregon, the famous John McLaughlin, Pat Metheny and Joe Zawinul. He also worked with African artists such as Neneh Cherry and Salif Keita. This concert shows Trilok Gurtu live at Jazz en Baie 2013, one of France’s major jazz festivals at Mont-Saint-Michel, with special guest Nils Petter Molvaer on trumpet.
