Yorkshire comedian Duggie Wakefield and his Lancashire Gang come to the rescue of an ordinary working girl who loses her job for filling in a Penny Pool football coupon in the work's time. When she is also cheated out of her winnings, a wealthy young businessman falls in love with her. With Duggie's Gang they decide to right a wrong, and in the process, cause plenty of chaos and laughter. This pre-war film features performances from many of the Variety acts of the period such as Macari & His Dutch Serenaders, the Marie Louise Sisters, Jack Lewis's Singing Scholars and even a young Frank Randle.
