The Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901) had the unique gift of capturing the often turbulent emotions of his operatic characters in the most beautiful melodies. In 2001, the centenary of Verdi's death, four star tenors teamed up to celebrate the composer's life: Plácido Domingo, José Carreras, José Cura and Marcelo Alvarez. These four gentlemen perform selections from 'Il trovatore', 'Nabucco', 'Rigoletto', 'La traviata', 'Un ballo in maschera', 'Don Carlo', 'Aida', 'Otello', 'Falstaff', 'Ernani', 'Il corsaro', 'Jérusalem', and 'La forza del destino', and more.
