These film reels had vanished for decades and no one knew about the secret passion of Hitler's second man Hermann Goering. This footage from his private collection shows for the first time how he preferred to see himself: at the height of his power, acclaimed by the masses - as in the annexation of Austria in 1938, as Commander-in-Chief of the Luftwaffe and finally as Hitler’s most important henchman. We gain an insight into the emotional life of one of the most powerful Nazis who left no diary and almost no personal notes behind, and who was involved in almost all the crimes of the regime. The films, mostly shot in color, unveil the mystery of the "Nazi number one”, who was convicted and sentenced to death at the Nuremberg trials, but then committed suicide by cyanide ingestion the night before he was due to be hung.
