Held in the picturesque setting of Jamaica's Montego Bay, Reggae Sunsplash is the original, biggest and most prestigious of all reggae festivals. Reggae Sunsplash was the first and biggest festival for reggae musicians and fans. First held in 1978, it rapidly became the venue for established superstars and up-and-coming contenders. Bob Marley, newly elevated to global popularity, chose to headline Sunsplash in 1979 and that gave the lead for others to follow.
