Night after night, the jazz clubs of New York City host new, ever-vital incarnations of jazz music. New York has it all; from bebop to hip-hop, from electro to big band swing and free jazz. The series NYC Sessions is the thermometer of New York jazz in the first decade of the 2000s. The concerts featured in this series were recorded at several New York jazz clubs, featuring some of the very best and freshest jazz bands. The series offers an eye-witness account of the incredible inventiveness and diversity of New York City’s jazz scene. Drummer Chris Dave has been around the world and back playing for and recording with some of music's most established and iconic artists including D'Angelo, Kenny Garrett, Terrence Blanchard, Wynton Marsalis, Pat Metheny, Lalah Hathaway, Sonny Rollins, and Robert Glasper. In this broadcast, the drummer plays together with Robert Glasper and Derrick Hodge at the Hip Hop Cultural Center of Harlem at the Frederick Douglass Boulevard.
