Pianist János Balázs studied at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest with Gyöngyi Keveházi and István Gulyás. He is a prize winner of a number of international competitions, including the International Frédéric Chopin Piano Competition and the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition, both held in Budapest. In 2013 he was selected for ‘Rising Stars’, organised by the European Concert Halls Organization (ECHO), which resulted in appearances in major European concert halls such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Barbican Centre in London, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, Bozar in Brussels, Laeiszhalle in Hamburg and Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona.
