Poojary Madhavcharya, a devout lower-caste man, earns his livelihood by offering prayers at a village Mandir. When his brother, Gopal, causes trouble and falls in love with an upper-caste girl, Madhavcharya's life takes a turn for the worse. The keys to the Mandir are taken away, and Gopal steals its jewelry.
