Night after night, the jazz clubs of New York City host new, ever-vital incarnations of jazz music. New York has it all; from bebop to hiphop, from electro to big band swing and freejazz. The series ‘NYC Sessions’ is the thermometer of New York jazz in the first decade of the 2000s. The concerts featured in this series were recorded at several New York jazz clubs, featuring some of the very best and freshest jazz bands. The series offers an eye-witness account of the incredible inventiveness and diversity of New York City’s jazz scene. Drummer and educator Nasheet Waits is a New York native.
