The province of Carinthia in Austria possesses an exceptional Alpine road that travels through a biosphere park, the Nockalm Road. This mountain road, tucked away neatly into the landscape, gradually reveals the high areas of the stunningly beautiful Nock Mountains. In 1987 they were designated as a national park and fifteen years later, a biosphere park.
