A woman flees with her young son after her husband falsely accuses her of adultery and prevails in court where she is denied custody and her husband denied her visitation rights. They live in the Rio Grande River jungles and the boy grows to manhood. The husband has offered a large reward for the boy and even though it is years later the reward is still in effect. A hunter encounters the boy and his pet bear and discovers his identity. Meanwhile the boy has fallen in love with a native girl who does not return his affection. Agreeing to leave with the hunter who has claimed the reward, they are stopped when the hunter is killed by a jungle cat that in turn is killed by the boy's pet bear. The father arrives and asks for forgiveness admitting his mistakes.
