The six alkaline earth metals, beryllium, magnesium, calcium, strontium, barium and radium are in the 2nd main group of the periodic table. Alkaline metals are the most reactive elements and alkaline earth metals follow just after them. Alkaline earth metals are made up of two reactive outer electrons.
