Sir Simon Rattle conducts an evocative programme showcasing masterful works by three pre-eminent French composers. Book-ending this concert are two works by Maurice Ravel, Le tombeau de Couperin and the popular second suite from Daphnis et Chloe. Violinist Leonidas Kavakos takes to the stage to present his interpretation of Dutilleux’s violin concerto, L’arbe des songes; and American soprano Julia Bullock shines in Delage’s Quatre poems hindous.
