Aurangzeb wanted to turn the city of Burhanpur into the capital city of the south. He appointed Bahadur Khan as the Subhedar of Burhanpur. With the help of his chief Kakar khan, Bahadur Khan made the life of its residents miserable. Unable to tolerate this, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj raided the city and saved the people from the unjust rule.
