Bus driver Martin (Carmelo Gómez), feeling he has failed in life, has decided to commit suicide. But as he is about to jump off a bridge, a man named Salva (Fernando Valverde) proposes a deal. He'll put him in contact with some loan sharks who will lend him a million dollars, and he can live the "high life" for awhile before saying goodbye to his existence. Of course, Salva would want his cut "15 percent" for arranging the loan. Martin accepts, and with money in hand, starts a life of luxury and hires Salva as his accountant. Surrounded by five-star hotels, fancy restaurants and beautiful women, Martin eventually meets independent waitress Lola (Salma Hayek). Against Salva's advice, Martin falls for Lola, but he forgets his time is running out and the loan sharks want their money back.
