Prisma explores the relationships and identities of Marco and Andrea, two twins who look identical but approach life in a very different way. The twins begin a journey of discovery and transition from what they should be to what they want to be, which will also involve their group of friends, all united in the search for their place in the world and the attempt to express the true identity that is hidden behind their appearances. Andrea, clever and determined, has to repeat the year after being caught dealing drugs at school. Confident and seemingly fearless, he is actually questioning and exploring his gender identity. Marco, Andrea’s identical, yet completely different twin, is introverted and quiet. Due to a severe arm injury, he hasn't been able to train and swim for a while and he struggles with the constant apprehension of his parents. Carola is constantly seeking approval and attention from others. Daniele, who has not yet realised whether his future lies in music or as a professional swimmer, is desperately searching for a true and all-consuming love. Lastly Nina, a loner, and a militant lesbian, acts combative and angry, while hiding, a profound inner fragility from herself and the world.
