EdgeNotes because it's a note app that sits on the edge of your screen; it slides out when you need it and slides back when you don't, shrinking down to a few pixels wide giving you back all of your screen.
It is a simple yet highly convenient note app, for jotting or copying notes. You can have multiple notes - the first line of each note is the title of that note in a list view - click to open.
Notes are saved as you type and to delete a note just delete the content - there are no save and delete buttons.
EdgeNotes is happy on the either the right or left edges of the screen - this can be changed in the settings.
EdgeNotes can be locked from sliding back, handy when you are reading notes, or copying and pasting into forms. It can also be kept in the foreground so it doesn't get buried by other windows - but with one click of a button it will sink back behind other windows, or with another click, slide out of the way.
Notes are stored in individual files in a directory of your choice - you can point it to a directory that is backed up, such as OneDrive. The list of files shown in EdgeNotes is dynamically created from the contents of this folder and these files are accessible to you if you need to get at them directly, or to open and edit them in another app.
The app will continue to be developed whilst remaining true to its purpose - to be a simple and highly convenient note app.
